About Session 1: Acute and Subacute Pyogenic Osteomyelitis This opening session focuses on foundational diagnostic protocols and clinical management strategies for acute and subacute musculoskeletal infections. The program opens with welcoming remarks and interactive poll questions led by Dr. Sanjeev Sabharwal, followed by expert introductory talks covering general acute/subacute care, radiological evaluation, and pediatric infectious disease perspectives. About Session 3: Management of Sequelae Following Osteomyelitis
This session addresses the complex reconstructive challenges, bone defects, and limb deformities that persist after acute and chronic musculoskeletal infections. The program begins with an expert introductory lecture by Dr. Sandeep Patwardhan examining gap non-unions. Esteemed global faculty then share diverse case presentations illustrating femoral reconstructions, management of post-sepsis disappearing lateral femoral condyles, metaphyseal and diaphyseal bone defects, growth arrests, and modified Huntington’s procedures. Additional presentations demonstrate the management of infected bone and soft tissue gaps, knee flexion deformity corrections, hybrid JESS fixation for ankle deformities, and patient-centered functional recovery. The session concludes with a collaborative panel discussion.
